How optional background screening works on ZipFolk and what the badge means.
How it works
1. You purchase Background Check through ZipFolk.
2. ZipFolk receives your order.
3. ZipFolk sends you a secure link from our third-party background-screening provider, generally within about 48 hours.
4. You complete the screening application directly with the provider (such as Certn) — not inside a ZipFolk form.
5. ZipFolk receives the completion status or outcome information needed to administer the Background Checked badge, and staff review it before any badge appears.
Who does the screening
Screening is performed by a third-party provider. Sensitive application details and the report itself are handled through that provider's process. Depending on the provider setup, ZipFolk may receive only the status or outcome information needed to administer the badge. ZipFolk does not store your Social Security number.
What the badge means — and doesn't
A Background Checked badge is not a guarantee of safety. Reports can contain outdated, incomplete or inaccurate information, and screening reflects only what was available at the time.
Your rights
You may have rights to obtain a copy of your report and to dispute information you believe is inaccurate directly with the screening provider.
Consumer Reporting / FCRA Notice
Where U.S. consumer-reporting laws apply, ZipFolk and/or the designated screening provider will provide legally required notices, disclosures, authorization, consumer rights and adverse-action materials through the applicable screening process.
ZipFolk uses background-screening information only for the purpose disclosed to you: administering the Background Checked trust badge. ZipFolk is not an employment screening service.
Renewal
The badge lasts one year from approval. Keeping it requires renewing and completing a new screening.
