What each ZipFolk badge means, how long it lasts, and what it doesn't mean.
Important
Trust badges are informational signals only. They do not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, professional license, certification of competence, promise of safety, prediction of future conduct, or warranty regarding a person or business.
Verified Neighbor
A government-issued identity verification process was completed under ZipFolk's stated process: the member submitted a government-issued photo ID and a selfie video that ZipFolk staff reviewed and approved.
ZipFolk Verified
The member completed ZipFolk's live verification process with a ZipFolk representative on a video call, in addition to submitting a government-issued photo ID and a phone number.
Background Checked
The member completed the designated third-party screening process and met ZipFolk's applicable badge criteria at the time of review.
Founding Business
The business is one of the first fifty Founding Businesses on ZipFolk. It reflects participation in the founding program, not a review of the business's quality.
Badges expire and can change
Verification badges last for their stated term, usually one year from approval. Renewal or re-verification may be required to keep a badge.
Badges may be suspended or revoked if information turns out to be inaccurate, if a member breaks our rules, or if a renewal is not completed.
Screening reflects the information available at the time it was performed.
Do your own due diligence
Badges help, but you still need to evaluate anyone you meet, hire, buy from or work with. See our Marketplace & Local Services Disclaimer.
